I honestly cannot tell you where the time has gone, but our sweet baby girl Elyse Katharine is a month old! It really seems like just yesterday we were meeting for the very first time. I remember time flying by with Braden, as it still does, but I swear it goes 100x faster with the 2nd child!!
So, you may be wondering what is baby girl doing and what are her stats? Well, I must start off with the fact that she is just absolutely precious and I'm so smitten having a boy and a girl. She has a sweet, spunky personality which adds another fun dynamic to our growing family. She is a content baby just like her big brother, but when she's hungry she definitely has a shriek to let you know she is hungry & she would like to be fed right now :) She eats WAY MORE than she can handle as she is constantly spitting out portions of her meals...Braden never did this, so I'm learning how to adapt to doing laundry daily (not looking forward to our water & gas bill!). Although she spits up a lot, she is still a rock star eater as she weighed in at 10 pounds at her 4 week check-up. I was STUNNED that she was already 10 pounds, she feels so dainty to me still and so delicate...I suppose it's because I'm constantly carrying my 25 pound almost 2 year old around. She measures at 21.5 inches long...healthy little girl. She is still sleeping great, which makes me happy. She started smiling last week and awwwww how that melts your heart!! I remember the first time Braden smiled at 2.5 weeks & I actually have a photograph of it, it is just precious.
How am I adjusting to having 2 kiddos? I absolutely love it! It's a bit comical at times as when Elyse starts to cry - Braden will sometimes throw in a fake cry with a big smile on his face...Braden also loves to go around to all of "disters" equipment (pack 'n play, papasan, etc) and turn on all the music, self soothers, etc...so needless to say we are going through batteries like it's water. Braden continues to love on his little dister and is so very sweet with her. We enjoy park time as often as we can and I'm finally getting that down pat - I wear Elyse and chase Braden around the park...good workout, eh?
