we seem to refer to Braden as "little buddy" more often than not these days...I suppose it is because he really is like our little buddy :) and I actually call him "love" - he is my other love!! when Jess does yard work, cleans garage, etc his little shadow is there...when I get out of the shower and put moisturizer on, brush my hair, gloss my lips my little shadow is there wanting to take part in it all.I love that he is so enthusiastic to hang out with his Mama & Dada :)
some updates about our little buddy since it is a tad overdue...within the last 3 weeks or so Braden has completely been training himself to potty train. I have been holding off because naturally with potty training a toddler and a 6month old means much more work for Mommy...plus he is only 2 and I have heard that when they are ready it is "that much easier". well, one afternoon as we were getting ready for nap time he decided he had to poop and he wanted to "go poo poo in potty mama"...so I thought sure, why not, lets have a go at it (to be honest I thought it was all an act and he wasn't going to actually go poo poo)...well, he went poop and when he was done he said "POOOO POOOO in POTTY MAMA"!!!!! I really wish I had the video cam out because that is a moment for his wedding day :) I gave him a yummy treat since I was so very proud of him and he has been going on & off in the potty since - both pee & poo. I have him wearing his diapers still when out and about since I can't stand public restrooms and it is really the last place I would rather be with my baby girl and toddler. so, for now we are learning at home and he is doing awesome at it. I am very proud of what a big boy he is becoming!!
he adores his sister and wants her to be a part of EVERYTHING he does! it really is sweet and he gets more & more excited as she is getting bigger and can play more with him. they are going to be the best of buds!
his latest is reading his absolute favorite book - which is the story of Noah or as B calls him "Oah". he is completely fascinated by the story, loves to see all the animals go into the ark and loves to point out that there are "two dows (cows!) mama!"...and 2 of every other animal :) his other go-to books are his Clifford the Big Red Dog series...he is beyond obsessed.
He is also obsessed with the number 2...we are aware that this could have some reflection on us training him a few months ago that he was turning TWO! It is pretty cute as everything has to have "TWO"..."the daddo (dog) has TWO eyes mama!"... "dow (cow) has TWO eyes mama!" ...so fun! we love to spend time at the local barn and last week when we were there he actually sat right next to the sheep and was as content as could be...and yes, "the deep (sheep) has TWO eyes mama!" ...and "the deep (sheep) are dirty dirty mama!" :)
Braden also loves music, loves to "play" the guitar and loves to dance! He has discovered a show called the Wiggles...we don't let him watch TV very often and we are very selective on what movies he is allowed to watch. I remember a good friend letting her daughter watch The Wiggles and so we got a copy and Braden LOVES it...actually LOVES is an understatement - there is no word for how much Braden LOVES The Wiggles. It's pretty fun to watch him learn the moves and dance along...and he always grabs his guitar to dance along with! He refers to them as the "IGGLES" :) enjoy this fun clip from last week of him jammin - the attire is all his choosing :) and don't mind the little meltdown since his glasses (which are actually way too big for him!) kept falling off. I need to get him some awesome retro glasses that fit him :)
this Fall has had some very random weather
...last week it was raining, we turned the fireplace on even because it was so cold!
... and this week we have the a/c on 24/7
