I wasn't planning to write a Thanksgiving post early, but tonight I was reminded by a Mommy friend of how truly lucky and blessed we are to have our little ones. She is a local business owner that makes & sells children's clothing and has a bulk order for a 6 year old little girl that has Leukemia. Literally just minutes before I heard this I had just put Braden to bed and looked at Jess and said how blessed we are to have that little boy...and then I hear this story. Breaks my heart. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that family is going through. I cannot begin to imagine how that Mother is feeling. I cannot think about how that little girl is feeling about the thought of losing her hair at 6 years old. Kids are so mean and I just ask you to pray that nobody makes fun of her for the loss of her hair. And please pray that she is HEALED!
I remember when I started Jr. High there was a girl that was in my class named Melissa Gordon who had Leukemia. She was undergoing Chemotherapy and so she had no hair. Since it was a private school we had a strict dress code, which included that you were not allowed to wear hats, boys nor girls, except for Melissa due to the circumstances. I will never forget how mean people were to her...yes, even at a private Christian school. When she would be at her locker in between classes I remember seeing the boys knock her hats off into her locker and making fun of her. It broke my heart. I met her in 7th grade and I knew her, but I wasn't very close with her as she was gone a lot due to treatments/appointments, but she was an extremely sweet gal.
Well, not even a year later she passed away.
The story of the 6 year old girl reminds me of Melissa and I just pray that she is healed.
She is too young to leave her family.
Thank you Lord for my sweet baby boy.
Braden, I love you so much!!
I love you too sweets :) xoxo
Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone and remember all that you are blessed with!
