For as long as I've known Jesse his dream has been to have a custom made surfboard. He is not just your typical "surfer dude", he could careless about a flashy looking board, he cares about how it rides the wave. He LIVES to surf. Surfing is HIS time to just be and to have down time; he is beyond passionate about it. I meet so many people that used to have a hobby that once they got married they just let slip away and that makes me so sad. I think it is SO important to keep hobbies and be able to share those with your spouse and then onto your children. Jesse is a surfer not just by hobby, but by heart. It is truly something he could never give up and I am so thankful that even though we are 1/2 hour from all the beaches around we make it a priority for him to get in the water as often as possible; he gets up at the crack of dawn on whatever day he decides to get in the water and is generally back by the time Braden & I are up and ready for whatever that day holds. It works perfect for us and I LOVE seeing my hubby so in love with a hobby. Not only a hobby, but a time for him to fellowship with his buddies and time with the Lord. In my opinion it is simply priceless. SOOOO...why am I sharing this with you? Well, when Jesse began studying for the CPA Exam I told him that once he is done with the exams and is my Jesse S. Moore, CPA that he will have his dream come true (besides marrying me! haha!), he will get his custom shaped/designed surfboard. So, you can imagine the excitement and the research that started instantly on surfboard shapers and deciding on which one he wanted to have shape his board. Well, after about a year of him researching shapers he decided on a local shaper who is phenominal and the thing we are most stoked about is giving business to a young Christian family.
So, what did I do for his surprise? I scheduled an appointment for us to meet up with the surfboard shaper and design HIS NEW CUSTOM SHAPED & DESIGNED SURFBOARD!!! It is SO fun designing a surfboard - I'm so happy my hubby has had me involved!! After Braden was born we knew we wanted to somehow include a memory of him on the board - and we decided on having his foot prints on the deck of the board. I can't wait to show pics when it is all done!!
The other part of his surprise was this amazing hike a girlfriend of mine has been trying to get me to do for months now out in Montana de Oro. It is breathtaking and we plan to hit it up again sometime soon!! We took a fun picnic lunch and enjoyed the beautiful coast. We had SUCH a GREAT day and I am so happy hubby is done! Yeah! This is the first season of "after tax season" being over that we can enjoy without having the exams on the back of our minds and being stressed with upcoming tests. Yeah!
