Yeah for Spring!! Yeah for flowers!!

Our extended patio!! It's done :)
Oh, don't mind the random plant, we are trying to decide on where to plant it!

Finally, after about 2 months of working every Sunday to upgrade our yard...it is finally starting to look how we envisioned it to.
Some goals we had for our yard this Spring:
[X] Extended Patio to be complete
[X] Vegetable Garden
[X] Pull weeds and place weed barrier down
[X] Get or make a fountain (I've wanted this since the day we moved in!)
Play yard for Braden

When we first bought our house just over 2 years ago the first thing we did was put an extended patio in the back with flagstone...we planted ground cover to help fill in between, assuming it would look awesome. Well, with 2 brown thumbs we finally tore out the thyme and placed it on the other side of the yard and put tiny rocks in between the flagstone. It looks awesome and is low maintenance! We planted a TON of vegetables and are optimistic that our garden will flourish with yummy produce! We (or I should say Jesse!) even hooked it all up on the drip system so in case I forget to water, the plants won't die...I'm notorious for forgetting to water the garden. We planted string beans, artichoke, tomatoes (LOTS & LOTS of them!). Last, but not least we scored a fountain for $25 off craigslist a few weeks ago (LOVE that site!) and it is exactly what we wanted! It's nothing glamorous, but we plan to paint it and fix it up...we just love being able to have our back door open and hear the lovely sound of running water! It's so fun seeing our yard come back together and looking inviting for yummy bbq's. Braden loves to cruise around on the grass and we are in the works of looking for a fun playhouse.
Oh, gardening is one of my favorite things and it is even more enjoyable to do as a family!! I will post pics of our vegetable garden once it is complete - it is almost there :) We are waiting for bark to go on sale and then it will be done! Yeah!

My absolute favorite flower - sweet lillies...I planted these the first Spring after we bought our house and they come back every year and are just gorgeous - I will post more when they bloom!
Lastly, our fountain ~ it is the most relaxing thing ever to listen to!
